During a brief 5 year period Britpop became one of the most important cultural movements of all time. The genre of melodic British pop produced a record-breaking run of hit records in the UK charts and left an indelible mark on the history of 20th century pop music.
This unforgettable catalogue of music is now celebrated on stage in PARKLIFE THE SOUND OF BRITPOP which is appearing at the [VENUE] in [TOWN/CITY] on [DATE].
This show features some of the most memorable songs recorded by some of the most iconic bands in the history of British music such as Oasis, Blur, Stereophonics, The La’s, Reef, Ocean Colour Scene, The Verve plus many more.
In 90’s Britpop Britain, also remembered for shows such as Top of The Pops, TFI Friday and The Big Breakfast, Britpop was not just a musical movement, it involved TV, Radio, Film and Art. Now, nearly 25 years on, the nostalgia of the mid 90’s is receiving a brand new wave of artistic acclaim.
‘Back in the 90’s, we were at school and remember the effect it had on everything we listened to and watched as teenagers,’ say Greg Webb and Kris Edwards PARKLIFE THE SOUND OF BRITPOP’s, Producers and Musical Directors.
Some years later, after still enjoying endless rounds of gigs with the Illegal Eagles The Ultimate 60s Show, Coldplace – A tribute to Coldplay and many tours as professional musicians, Kris and Greg gathered together their favourite musicians and set about recreating the incredible music of Britpop.
PARKLIFE THE SOUND OF BRITPOP was born.
A trip back to a time before Facebook, Instagram or any mobile phones. When we all used to tape the top 10 on Radio One and arrange nights out on a land line.
The incredible songbook of the mid 90s lives on in PARKLIFE THE SOUND OF BRITPOP, in a memorable evening featuring two hours of timeless Britpop classics, all leading up to the famous Oasis gig at Knebworth Park, which Noel Gallagher called;
"THE LAST GATHERING OF THE PEOPLE".
